Croup (acute laryngo‐tracheo‐bronchitis)
Sign and Symptoms--inspiratory stridor, barking cough, hoarseness and respiratory distress.
preceded by fever and coryza for 1–3 days
Parainfluenza viruses
6 months and 5 years.
Management
Nebulised adrenaline (400 micrograms/kg or 0.4 ml/kg of 1:1000 (maximum 5 ml)) with oxygen
Oral dexamethasone 150 micrograms/kg or prednisolone 0.5–1.0 mg/kg
Inhaled nebulised budesonide 2 mg
