This a definite guide to revision for the MRCPCH examination. It has 25 chapters covering all areas of the MRCPCH syllabus in note format. It provide you concise presentation of information, with hints and tips.
This book is the main book for MRCPCH part 1 (both parts). I didn't read whole book. I used to do questions online and if I got a wrong answer than going to read relevant section of the book and mark it. In this way you will save your time and will get enough time for revision.

(A must)
A revision book
intended primarily for candidates sitting their MRCP Part 1 examination and
which covers all the essential basic sciences. It focuses on the recurring
themes which come up in the questions.
Despite the changes to the teaching of the undergraduate in medicine and the integration of the basic sciences with clinical education, the junior doctor, faced with postgraduate examinations, is always going to be poorly prepared for those increasingly important subjects. This book presents the essential information in the form of lists, tables, diagrams and flow charts.

Don't read whole
book. I read sections on Anatomy, physiology and statistics. Other sections I read if I got an wrong answer. Its
a very good book to understand statistics.

Question books—
Many question books are available. I read few Pastest books but mainly websites questions.
Websites for MRCPCH:- I subscribed to first three websites. My first choice is pastest. I subscribed pastest on very first day. 123doc is my second choice and onexamination is the third. Only recently I heard that MRCPCH2009 started their own online course. I really don't know much about new online course of MRCPCH2009.
1. Pastest
To me this is one of the best site for MRCPCH online preparation. I found it is good for part one and part two. Questions are very well formatted and answers are also, to the point.

For the DCH u first need to pass the FOP theory paper (only FOP no other theory paper), once you are done with FOP then the next step is clinical well now a days too many doctors are going for it what i will suggest you that do proper preparation and apply for the fop and clinical together so that u can b easily accommodated in the dch clinical
Goodluck

ReplyDeletehello.. i am fresh graduate wanted to give mrcpch part 1a in june 2017.. how much time required for preparation??? from where ican get the past papers..?? kindly guide
ReplyDeleteAt least 4 to 6 months. I do not know about past papers.
ReplyDeleteDear wc to the company
ReplyDeleteHope you have the basic idea about MRCPCH
well about paper 1 most of the pplz use to ask this question how much time will be enough and the answer to it is straight forward there is no specific time period it depend and vary from individual to individual, if you are just a fresh graduate and trying it after ur internship u may need 6 months are more but if you are in some training course and studying so for u 3 months are more then enough
About past papers thr is no specific resources but pplz who have gone through exam has sum up thr exam questions and u can just have an idea from it
Rest of you need the materiel for exam do tell me i have a huge bulk of resource for mrcpch 1 that is more then enough to pass the exam
Good luck and if any further query do tell me

the two book : the science of pediatrics mastercourse, and rcpch mastercourse book " the one with 2 volumes published in 2007" are they the same book with 2 editions of they are two different publications, because some study groups claim that science of pediatrics is now recommended while mastercourse is no longer recommended
